Thread: Is it possible to bind a droid command in the joy?

Well, i have 5 buttons in my joystick that i never use, and i was wondering is there is some way to bind a droid command in it, so i dont have to look at the keyboard in the middle of a dogfight to do a shunt =)

wouldn't that be nice?
there's no way to do it in game, afaik, but maybe you could program the joystick outside of the game and have button 3 = f1 or whatever. i'm not sure if my joystick allows that kind of programming or not.

The method I use is to put the droid command in a hotkey, and then bind the hotkey to my joystick. So one of my joy buttons activates F4 which happens to be shunt to shields 3.

can you bind keys with the cyborg evo wireless? anyone know? i could rtfm i suppose.

You can create a new macro with whatever droid command(s) in it that you want to perform. Once created you can map that 'custom' command to any button on your joystick. At least that worked for me for Capacitor to Shield Shunt.

Ya if you make a macro that is just the droid command you can bind macros to your joystick.

OR like it was said the easiest way just put your programs in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Then map the toolbar slots to joystick buttons. I have all 4 of my overloads on thier own 4-way hat switch. Then I have my 3 pilot specials on another 4-way. You can do this ingame with no other outside programs running.

Binding the macro to the button has no outside programs running either. There's a section in the swg keymapping page where you can map macros to buttons.
Which stick are you using where you've got a couple of 4-ways?

Ch Products Pro Throttle USB it has 3 4 ways and a 8 way. AND a Ch Products F-16 Combatstick it has 2 4-ways. Ah was unaware you could map macros, I suck at making them so I usually just don't bother.

Hmm... may have to look into the CH Products stuff again when my current Logitech bites the dust. I've had this one for 2 months, so should be any day now.....
