I spent the time mining enough asteroid resource for a friend to make a railgun (awesome firing animation btw) but its 25/75 natural split vs S/A

So Im wondering, what are the starting vs S/A stats for each of the POB only weapons?

Gauss Cannon should have a 75/25 split

Null Bolt has around 53/53

WHY??? Why are they using the same names of weapons as in warhammer 40K??? yeez... Railgun is a Tau weapon!

Railguns and Gauss Cannons, as 'names,' have an extensive history. To consider them a simple Warhammer reference is..... silly.

As for the weapons themselves, I've been told they have nice DPS potential, with the blaster and ion cannon versions being a bot more 'useful' than the disruptor version. That has to do with the split between shield defense and armor defense of enemy targets, both NPC and player.

A rail gun is a real weapon. The US military is experimenting with them, so the concept is generic. A rail gun is essentially a magnetic rifle. It fires a solid metallic slug accelerated by a series of electromagnets in the barrel.

What confuses me is that a Gauss Cannon is essentially the same thing as a rail gun...

I think the original question is how well do they work...

GoodSide:

Thestatsare similar to a non-re'd looted lvl 10 blaster. [But with faster refire rate]

Bad Side:

[at least with the null bolt blaster]

The "Muzzle Flash" is so intense that you best have your gunners sign a statement not holding you as pilot responsible for any damage to thier eyesight.

Havent crafted the other two POB weapons yet... not sure if I will bother to either. Still up in the air.

I have an Elite Railgun, its similar in appearance to green blaster fire, but slower and with a WHOOM! sound when it fires. Pretty easy on the eyes, but useless against shields.

Needless to say, the one I have wasn't made with a damage intensifier, its max is only 3600. I can craft Experimentals with 3750...
