Substantial amounts of damage (better than 75% damage, that I've seen) will result in some level of decay whether you die or not.

Anything over 10 points of damage will cause delay, unless you repair in deep space or use the 25%, 25%, 50% repair method I have seen quoted, though I never hold faith in the latter method.

Yep, if you are a rebel and your ship is beat down use the vampiric repair at all costs, rather than using a station to repair. Then fly to deep space and get the free no-decay repair. It will save your ship.

That's for fixing level 4 droid program damage, not battle damage.


And yes, battle damage to your chassis above 10 points will decay your ship upon repair, unless you hyper in and out of deep space for a fix.
