Thread: Jedi Starfighter worth it....
Message Edited by Rouge_Jedi on 06-22-2005 11:34 PM
Think of it this way - if you go Imperial you'll get a perspective on how the other half flies. Be sure to get a Syck or TIE Heavy before doing it though...
...you could also go Smuggler's Alliance and make the change a bit more permanent. You're barely into Tier 3, so it wouldn't be a huge change. The only downside to going SA would be the inability to overt and faction farm in DS...but then again, Rebels have the entire galaxy to farm in.

If you can get a Belluba-22 (Grevious ship), from a friend, killing necrosis, whatever. You will have your answer, is the exact same ship, its just that (IMO) the Eta-2 looks 10000x times better and the cockpit has a lot more visibility (Belluba-22 cockpit is nice, but almost no visibility at all).
But yes, its worth it.
So in that case...
No, everyone's talking about it and switching factions because it's worthless.

I am sure this question has been asked before but I cannot find it in the forums, so here it goes. I am a Rebel pilot 2/3/2/2, and also a rebel. I was wondering if it would be worth it, to drop all of that and become Imperial to get the Jedi Starfighter, and then go back and join the Rebels again and become 4/3/3/3 Rebel pilot just to use the Jedi Starfighter. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I am a rebel on ground and freelancer in space, currently 3/3/2/2 freelancer. What you could do as i did was dropyour ground faction, do mishs till you're200(positive imp) or buy 5200 faction from an imp smuggler(assumingyou're -5000 imp). Then go do the JSF quest and die in space targeting ties instead of the rebels(hehe vader wont like this much but who cares..!!)(quest will end). Drop imp and go back to rebel(ull have to buy like 750 or so rebel from a reb smuggler or do mishs again).
To the original poster: I would go ahead and master Pilot before going for the JSF. Mastering will give you a bonus on your XP when you're grinding back. Also, as the previous posters have said, have a Heavy Z95 set up with high-end parts so your grind to 4333 (need to have Hypermanuverable Ships box to deed and fly the JSF) will be a little easier. I didn't have this set up, so I had to grind my first two rows with the starter, but the Master XP bonus really helped. I started Sunday and reached 4333 last night. If there were story missions that I had trouble with (for me, hit right around the last two boxes for Tier 3), group up with a higher-level pilot who can easily destroy those ships (have him disable them if you want to get the last blow for more XP) so you can get to the duty missions. Once I reached 3222, I switched back to my X-Wing and things got a lot easier.
You may or may not want to switch out your non-certified, high-level parts to put in your JSF once you reach 4333. I did this, but the speed and agility of the JSF more than makes up for some of those components. And, as others have said, it is a very, sweet ride. ![]()
Also, to make up your lost faction (esp. if you're grinding back to Colonel), go spaceovert when you take duty missions. You'll get a little bit of faction in addition to your XP per kill. However, be on the lookout for other PVP-enabled players in space when you're space overt.

Okay, guys, what about PvP?
It is my favorite PvP ship because it is about this big: .
I don't space PVP that much, but I'd agree that it's size and manuverability are a plus, along the lines of an A Wing.
