Thread: Suggested Smuggler content in Space....
Huh... I didn't see this one yesterday. A few thoughts / concepts / ideas:
Impie has to inspect Smuggie first to find the contraband, if he can't find it mission failed. He doesn't necissarily have to disable Smuggie to inspect, Smuggie could pay it nice and hold still for the inspection hoping Impie doesn't find his cargo (I'll get to this in a bit). Once Impie has found the contraband, he has to retrieve it via docking, again the Smuggie could hold still (why he would at this point I don't know) but most likely Impie will have to forcably retrieve it (disabling). Impie then has to return the contraband to an Imperial Station for his reward.
Modified Cargo Holds: Smuggie can load his ship with a modified cargo hold designed to thrawt inspections. Smugglers will have a schematic for Modified Cargo Holds, the schematic requires a normal SW cargo hold and possibly a DE component. When Smuggie modifies the cargo hold, he increases its inspection resistance, but lowers its cargo capacity. Alternately, instead of a schematic modified cargo holds could be part of the slicing revamp.
In addition to the scanner equipment to find Smuggie, Impie could install scanning equipment meant to attempt to penetrate Modified Cargo Holds.

Another possible addition to this mix would be Pirate missions. Similar to Impie missions, but you're not cracking down onSmuggie, you're trying to steal his cargo. Pirates could then complete Smuggie's mission or sell the cargo to black market dealers (junk vendors?). Pirates would be subject to "crackdown" missions as well (possibly taking over Smuggies?)
