Hi Folks,
I'm a 3322 Rebel Pilot and just bought my X-Wing. I have not configured it yet and am looking for suggestions from you guys on what you think would be best. I realize there are hardpoints for four lasers on the X Wing but I've always been more of a "hammer down" player and walk the lasers onto target which of course is not the most economic use of my capacitor but it is my game habit. Just wondering if you guys would suggest knowing this for armament would I be better off with 2 X Blasters that do about .5 shields/armor at 1500-2400 dmg, or one Ion Cannon and one Disruptor for the Shield/ARmor damage specializations of those weapons?
Any help on this would be really appreciated,

I use blasters myself. Less work that way.
And you never have to worry about doing 0 damage when you score a hit.

Dunno about the other fighter pilots, but here's my load out....... The Xwing has Three weapons slots when you go into it's management terminal. The first two places the weapons on the tip of the wings like you normally see on the Xwing. The third weapons slot places the weapon center of the top wings. I have two advance ION cannons in the first two slots and an experimental disruptor in the third slot. My xwing is the advance xwing so I can hold more mass so it's not going be exacly the same for you. But in my previos Xwing the idea was still the same..... two heavy ion cannons on the wing tips and a disruptor in the third slot.
I wanted two ION cannons so I can rip away any shielding quick. And I wanted a disrupto in the third slot because I needed something to eat away the enemies armor. Since I fly an xwing, my main enemy is mostly Tie fighters. They are tiny and fast, so that is why I wanted to place my disruptor in the third slot because it's the one weapon slot where my shots are most focused. When I go up against Tie fighters, not interceptors they are mostly armor and no shielding anyways, PvE.
The only timeever used a blaster is in a Z95, Ywing (MP) or the Awing. Because they basically only allow for one weapon the pilot can use, I had to use a weapon that worked on both shield and armor. But with the Xwing..... I can really focus one weapon on shields and another on armor. This is just my idea of a load out that works for me. You may come out with a completely different load out that works for you. You have to experiment to see what works with your fly and fighting style.

Similar, but here goes:
Slot 1: L7 Blaster (.268 refire)
Slot 2: L7 Ion cannon (.268 refire)
Slot 3: L9 Blaster (.260 refire)
I just re-armed it with that loadout today. It cuts through stuff like butter. I love it; it shoots like an uzi shotgun.

Well, I'm a 4434 privateer, but my Rhix has 3 weapon slots as well. I'm also a master shipwright, so I make my own weapons when I want to test stuff. I've found that for me, using all blasters is the way to go. They won't do as much damage against shields or armor, but it will damage the other kind, plus systems. Also, due to recent posts in the SW forum, I've decided that shot speed is a lot more important than max damage, so I've been using quick shot upgrades and maxing my refire rate out at 0.258.
