Thread: Corvette which way is top / bottom?

If I approach the Corvette from behind, how do I know which side is the top and which the bottom? Since I want to stay on the bottom and take weapon turret 5 out. Top and bottom look the same to me whenapproaching straight from behind.

When directly behind, slowly cycle targets through the corvette's weapons - everything except gun 5 will be on the "top" (i think of it as the bottom, but all these terms are rather moot in space), or on the sides. As you get closer you'll be able to see a large parabolic antenna behind gun 5; that's what I use as my visual reference. The other primary inticator is a hail of tracer rounds that come flying at you if you approach from the wrong aspect after gun 5 is eliminated.

Good Luck!

Cycle through the components; if you're directly behind, 5 is on bottom and 4 is on top, switch back and forth, watch the component target move and you'll see.

Also, from a distance - top has four bubbles up front, bottom has (6?).

You guys have it all wrong!!

Even as you are way out, just headed toward the enemy ship, way before you can make out the details, press (ctrl)+(slash). That is the default key to auto-level your ship.

Any time any NPC is trying to hold a course heading, like the Vette going through Kessel, they auto-level themselves. When you do the same, you will know that "Up" to you is "Up" to the enemy ship.

It's fast, it's easy, you can map it to a key or a JS button, and it's almost fool-proof for Corvettes and Gunboats.

Auto-level is a neat trick. I had figured out that target Weapon 5 is the way to go, as a yellow target rectangle appears. But auto-leevl is a good idea.

Thanks to all of you for your input. Thanks!

Btw, I got control of the Corvette, but it got blown to bits on its way to Kashyyyk station. I ll try again later.

Jeez, I am doing all of this in a small ass Kihraxz and with a mouse... isnt that worth some extra appreciation?

Approaching from the bottom, Shield is on the left and Secondary Shield is on the right. This information is handy when you have taken out weapon 5 and are going for the disable without killing the other guns. And if you do that the escort is easy.

Congratulations! As for Vette orientation, it can be worth it to take a close look at your faction's (or in your case, any) Vette in Kessel. It's easier to get a feel for things if you don't have to dodge fire.
