Thread: Should i go reb pilot?
Is going rebel pilot "worth it"?
I have never been able to fully answer that question, even to myself.
Never know until you try it. Little story, orginally i was a rebel pilot. It was my first mastery (and 2nd attempt). I thought myself a die hard reb pilot at that. Then one day i got bored, and on a spontaneous whim, i made a snap decision and decided, "what the hell, lets try imperial pilot!"
Several months later, imp pilot is my most mastered professioin, and the one i keep coming back to. You may find yourself being the same way with rebel pilot - but you wont know tell you try.
I've also heard rumor that the quest for the Heavy X-Wing doesn't currently work, which would be the main reason for me switching, and I wouldn't want to get stuck not being able to get the one ship I'd want because of a bug.

I'm in somewhat of the same position. Currently Ace in neutral alliance, but am hating the ship selection (aside from my Firespray, which is my baby, and wouldn't change with faction anyway, and the YT-1300, which I never have any use with). The only thing that keeps me there is the prospect of running the Corvette again, and losing the POB of the neutrals.

you need to go reb combatant and do the heavyx quest before dropping freelancer. the quest goes southwhen you drop your piloting profession, causing all your progress with the space station to reset as your space quest journal is wiped, but with emma on the ground your progress is saved, and you end up in a loop where the storyline is out of sync. so get all the ships you can from the CPG storyline while you are a freelancer because you wont be able to once you retire.
as for not liking the ship selection for freelance, im guessing you want a good light fighter besides the relics. if you are switchingto rebel for the adv-x i would say its a waste since the rihk and the krayt are both nice heavy attack ships. if its the awing your switching for, i can certainly understand that, but you might want to consider the tie advanced. same ship but with 2 gun mounts and a slight (if any) disadvantage in the hitbox. you also get the t/o for when you feel like cheezing it up with missiles. also the decimator is alot cooler than the nova IMHO,although i love flying both.
