Thread: Disappointment in YT-1300 :(

After taking over a year to grind out Master Privateer, only wanting a YT1300 to fly in. I was greatly disappointed in the YT.
No rooms to put the YT couches, or the gameing table, all there is, is the circular tunnel around the ship.
The Imp Decimator is WAY much better ship for traveling in. Nice view port, large square rooms. I just imagined a ship with a couple side rooms to put the couches, and gaming tables, but nothing.
Come on SOE get the YT looking better. Make it more like the Falcon in the movies

Hate to break it to you, but that's how the Falcon was laid out. In the movie, the YT couches were in the front of the ship, where Luke practiced with his glowstick. I stuck my couches in there, and it works well (albeit very spartan looking) along with the gaming table and other miscellaneous furniture. The ship is supposed to be crampt. By way of RL comparison, a YT-1300 is only slightly longer than an F-14 Tomcat.

You will like the Y-8 mining vessel its HUGE! Largest ship in the game. And the mission for it is pritty dang easy!

This is why I am going to decorate my Y-8 and not my YT1300.

yes I understand its not a huge ship, but in the books, it talks about cabins where they sleep and a cargo hold (that would be nice to have) The room where Luke and Ben train and the gaming table is much bigger than the one we have.
Havent seen the Y-8 where does that mission start? or is that the long one where you mine lots of stuff in space and takes forever? (If so havent completed it, got bored)
Point is, The Decimator has lots of room as I am sure the Reb ship does as well (havent seen it) They could have at least put in a nice square side Cabin room or something to put the couches to better use.

I really don't get the logic here, the only thing that bothers me about the YT-1300 is the Escape Pod is where the Loading Ramp is...
You want a YT-1300... but with more rooms... It wouldn't be a YT-1300 any more then

How did you get the YT-1300 passenger lounges to fit squarely anywhere on the ship? I was unable to do so. While my YT-1300 doesn't look exactly like the Falcon, I have come to like my design better. Wish I could post screens for you, but I'm not terribly familiar with that.
Now, if only they would leave the YT-1300 with only one engine graphic, instead of the alternate one that looks like a serial mouse port on PC's from the past...
Please? Pretty please?
I'm going to be sad if the new POB engine has this crappy graphic...

This has been an issue with the YT-1300 since the late 1970's.
"Like many science fiction spacecraft, the Falcon's interior sets can not actually physically fit within the exterior sets. Subsequent extended universe plans are consequently a compromise attempt at squeezing the interiors in (often with detriment to headroom)."

YT is the most difficult to decorate by far.

Thanks for the pictures Oblox, that helps give some ideas.
I know what you are all saying, I have looked at all the ship books, read every SWG book over the course of my life, its just that I was expecting a little bit of room for the YT couches to fit like they should and the gaming table. Would have been real nice if they made it like a socket, only one spot for those items and once you place it, it is permanant.

When I first got my YT, I was not exactly disappointed, but was pretty d*mn confused. "If Solo closes the hatch and then runs past the passenger room to the cockpit, this means it was here, but this looks more like the starship computer room". Not to mention that the inside of the YT was changed in Empire Strikes Back to better fit it for combat, which confused me even more. I had to imagine and ended up with an overrall nice ship, I think. I'll post screenies when I get the chance if ya want.
By the way, the only disappointement I had with it was the lack of a forward blaster cannon. Unacceptable when you consider the Y-8 has a pilot-controlled gun and will soon have 4 turrets. But oh well
