I need to disable this ship as part of an Inquisition mission. The Lamdba must have some firepower because I don't last long against it. Any tips?

Fly around him, get in front of his flight path, and shoot down his throat.

I can only disable Weapons 1, Engine, or Reactor. The first two times I went at the Engine, which I failed at. The last time I figured I would go after its Weapons. However, that didn't get me any further. Hopefully by engaging from the front I will have better results.

If it were me, id target his reactor, and leave it at that.
If you have to dock, dock, just approach from the front. WHen docking the animation always put you on top of the lambda, at no point are you in the guns arc. As long as you remember to not get behind him, your fine, removing the turret is totally unneccessary.

Are you useing a flight computer with reactor overload, engine over load, weapons capacitor overcharge, weapon overload and capacitor to shield shunt? If you are not you can forget about soloing beyond this point.

I did succeed by going about the front. I do not have a flight computer yet. I just bought one and plan on learning how to use it next.

I just clued you in on what programs to put in it. being imperial you only have weapon OL and engine OL. You will have to either buy the other programs or find a neutral pilot to make them for you.
