Is there a post or link to somewhere else where I can find the %throttle at which each ship turns the fastest?

I cannot find it. After so long after the JTLS release I cannot believe that none of the math geek around has the numbers.

/throttle .6 works just fine for me. Are you talking about the best possible turning speed for pvp?

I am asking for the best turning throttle for all ships. I use .5 when flying, but I am pretty sure each chassis has his own %.

I didn't know there is a turning throttle for PVP and one for PVE.

Notice I say throttle and not speed, since speed depends on the engine and throttle, as far as I know, depends on chassis. But thanks for your reply TheDarkness4u.

A-wing with lvl 8 engine.

84% = all round best handling for the ship.

Nobody ever took the time to collect this info?

So, does anyone have an idea on how to test this?

It varies alot, depending on chassis, and even to some degree level of engine installed.

Off the top of my head, ive lumped them together as thusly:

40% throttle: (although 65% works too, just not as quick)
-Rhyxirk
-Krayt
-KSE
-Y wings
-Tie oppresor

65% throttle:
Xwing
Dunelizard
Tie aggressor (i think, didnt get alot of stick time on it)

80% throttle:
A wing
Tie Interceptor (and RGI)
Tie advanced

Not exact, but its in the ballpark.

Don't you guys constantly adjust your throttle? I found it workd best to constantly be on the ball with the throttle, adjusting it to the craft you are fighting not to your craft. I could be way off, but just setting your throttle seems limiting to me.

In PvE, yah most of the time. Although lately ive taken to using all 3 axis and pushing (sliding) the ship to point its nose how i want to bring its guns to bear, at corner velocity simply for practice.

In PvP - occasionaly.

Ok, I've always used /throttle .8;

Is /throttle .84; a better turn ability?

If so how can you tell such a little change? .............Maybe a waypoint macro and y/p/r at different speeds then comparing the radii?

Yes, but in the heat of pvp battle. If you spend your time looking at the throttle you will die. I try to use the best turn possible when fighting. Just in case I need to turn really really hard. Now if I were going to fast, or too slow then My turn radius would be larger and The other guy might be able to catch me.......

However, I do have a throttle macro which I use sometimes to constantly change my speed. But you have to use that sparingly because if the other player relizes it, he will quickly gain the rythem of the macro pauses. Also, I have mapped /throttle .1 - /throttle .9, onto my keyboard keypad keys. Mapped under control +keypad #1 - Control + Keypad #9, so all I have to do is hit 2 buttons and slow down/speed upto right where I want to be.

I'd just take Leaphs word for it. He's taken the A wing to the point of it being a hookey religion.

I have similar plans with another ship, but the learning curve is going to be painful.

I find it is with my engine anyway. The difference between sweetspots andoverall handling characteristicsbetween two good lvl 8 engines of mine but different speeds on them both and slightly better r,p,y on the slower one was quite profound in my oppinion.

As for constantly adjusting throttle...yes I do but using presets gets me to certain throttle 'areas' I need quicker and I can jump between throttle settings almost without keeping an eye on the screen. With an A-wing, it is dangerous in pvp mainly to fall under a certain speed as the ship will suddenly change from "light as a feather graceful one of scythe death" to "I'm a brick! a brick! a BBRRRIIIICCCKKK!" within a split second so using a 'minimum throttle' preset alows me not to slip beneath that boundary and on the event that I do, I always have one of my throttle presets to jump me back up to a speed I know I will handle well at.
