I am doing the Dravin missions to become a freelance pilot and am doing the third mission. I follow the waypoints, escort the freighter and kill a load of Black Sun fighters ... as soon as I get down to 1 or 2 left, a new bunch pop and I am back up to 5-7 to kill again. I cannot complete the mission as the freighter keeps getting killed and I can see no way to kill the Black Sun any faster. I don't know what I am missing. Any walk-throughs or useful hints on completing this mission?

In my opinion, when it comes to doing the pilot tier missions, completing the mission is the most important thing, and how you do it does not matter.

That being said:

Disable.

This includes both mission targets, and any stray aggro that you might get. Of course, if you are able to kill everything fast enough, then kill away. Keep working at it, and you will be able to tell when to kill, and when to start disabling.

If you are a new pilot trying to do this mission in the starter ship you will be in the setuation you are in now. I recomebd getting a Crafted ship either a Scky or Dunlizard if you are able and get crafted or better yet reengenered equipment. At you level they should be fairly cheap and easy to find on a vendor search. If you can get a friend to help you out that is low level aswell it is a fun time for both as you learn how to fly with a wingamen and work together.

Oh if you can use a Dunlizard they are making them in 85k+ mass range. Get one of these bueaties adn you will not need anything else to fly for a very long time.

As for the mission SA has lots of escort missions. Get use to it. You will just have to learn to kill them faster, and that will be helped with better equipment.
