Hi, guys,

I'm a Rebel Private on leave and I can't get into the abandoned Rebel Base on Dantooine to meet with my Tier 2 Vortex Squadron trainer. Is this a bug? Or do you have to be SF or Combatant to enter the base?

Thanks,

I'm not 100% percent on this, but i believe that you need to be combatant.

Could also be that you need to have the Rebel Themepark done, or at least the mission from the Dantooine Space station.

Just need to be a combatant. I did the vortex squadron a few weeks ago (now starting the imperial storm squadron).

Landing rights is with the space station mission. You might also get Landing rights by doing the Rebel Themepark.

I THINK once you land you have an option to say "I want to land at the special place" or something like that, then you do a quick missiojn for that guy and you can land.
(never done it myself but heard it works like that )

i read that the proper mission entails destroying some tie fighters, however i do not have the option to select any mission that resembles this from the dantooine space station. am i missing something? do you have to be overt? i am currently a 1211 reb pilot.

Mission is not given out on the first dialog, its given out when you ask to land. Check there. If you dont get it, its because you're too low space overt is not required.

PS landing while on leave is possible. but entering the building is not (or shouldnt be)

You need to be a Combatant or Special Forces to enter the Abandoned Rebel base. You don't need to have done the rebel theme park.

If you want to gain landing rights to the base- you will need to do a few escort/ destroy missions for the Dantooine space station. The other set of missions for the Dantooine space station lets the station do full repairs to your ship. So do the repair missions first. To access these missions - when choosing options for repairs after the station tells you it can do one third or 75% etc- ask why you cant get full repairs and keep on choosing responses until the station makes you a deal- secure their parts / supplies etc.. through some missions and it will do full repairs.

Landing base missions

Target the station and /comm it and request for special landing permission. Continue with conversation until you get the deal to land at a base/ place that doesn't exist - as the station says. Brief info on missions are below.

First section: Escort

You have to intercept and disable one of the supply freighters that has been seized by the Imperial Navy. After disabling, you will need to escort it back to the station. Becareful on way to and from- as patrol pasts near a bot ship spawn area of fighters that agro on you.

Second section: Battle

The imps are sending a strike force to attack the supply fleet. I think it consists of 1 TIE Advanced, 1 Interceptor, 8 TIEs. You must destroy all these ships.

When missions are complete you get landing rights.

Can be done solo- not a walk in park but possible. Or get a wingman. I met a Master Pilot that helped me complete them, as well as one Tier 3 mission.
