When is the ideal time to repair your chassis.. and when you repair a chassis is it like repairing armor and weapons where you can get a full repair on it or does it decay everytime you repair..
Basically im asking if ships can be kept alive forever or atleast for a very long time.

If you repair it at a station it will decay 10% like all the other ship components.
It won't decay if you enter and leave Deep Space.

I never watched chassis HPs to be honest, but i think if you get destroyed and your Reactor and Engine are still working (if you blow up or eject not everything gets destroyed), then even with minimal Chassis HP you can fly. Depending on Engine damage it might not be fast, but works.
Otherwise you can tell the station "To repair just a little" which means 25%, and have the other 75% repaired in deep space.

my A-Wing chassis is down to 71
unless someone targets my engine i get blown up before my components get damaged.

ah well im just asking cuz i just got a firespray and i would like to be able to go and take on hard stuff with out the fear of getting chassis decay and slowly losing a ship worth millions....
if your sure you can go to DS and back and keep your total chassis HP with no decay, then thats all i need.
