If so, could you please give me any ideas on killing all those gunboats. At this point I am looking to grab as many Imp Pilots as I can, and bomber strike the thing to death. Mission has a destroy for 2 imperial style gunboats, 2 modified 3 weapon gunboats,1 heavy cruiser, 3 arc-170's, and 3 grevious fighters, all tier 5, and all in your face from the moment you get to Kashyyyk space.
I am on Ahazi, and will look to try this again Wednesday night 9PM EST 7/13/05. Our group of 8 master pilots failed last night to complete this, as we ran out of time. I think we need more imp pilots.

There was a crew on Valcyn that did it. While the original group was mostly Imperial, they ended up recruiting some people from a Rebel organization to get enough skilled pilots to get it done. A thread about it was posted here. It was great fun, and may be the hardest single space mission I've come into contact with.

We did it on shadowfire a few times and it was great, we had a bout 4 regular pilots and 4 people on a YT. The key was going to the waypoint where they spawn, have one person get the mission and quicly clear out the first wave before the second one arrives.

ooh I should also note that you shouldn't have more then one person with a mission at a time or you will pull multiple spawns

Smallest group I've done it with was four pilots--three Actis Interceptors and one B-wing. None of us were Imps.
Simple strategy? We Actis pilots charged into the Blackscale fleet and blew up some of the fighters, drawing the gunboats to ourselves. Once we had the entire fleet's attention, the B-wing pilot came in behind and blew up the gunships. It worked pretty well, actually. We managed it without any casualties, though my fighter was the only one without armor damage.

I like Halyn's strategy though. Good to see multiple classes of ships being combined wisely.

Not exactly accurate. Starts with the fellow next to the guy who gives the proton carbine quest, at the top of the Ryatt (sp!) trail. He starts you off on a fun quest to go find a radio in the Trandosian camp down below, from there you start a fun quest with alternating parts of space battles and ground missions. The space part hasn't been too hard, but I haven't personally been able to solo the ground stuff.

I've been working off and on to get to this mission sometime. It's my hope to vindicate a lot of my ARC170 strategies by using 1-2 of them on this mission.

Where does this quest start? It sounds like a very fun space battle. What rewards for the quest do you get besides the badge?
