Thread: Any one have advice on how to complete Teir 3 Mission 3 from Jabba for Privateer?
I don't remember that exact mission, but sounds like one of the ones where the waves never end. You have to make it to the delivery point with constant ships coming out you. Common wisdom says to just disable the first wave or two, boost to the delivery point, and dock fast.
Weenie way is to hyperspace to another sector - I don't advise this.
There are usually only one or two of these per squadron, don't worry.
Make sure you're running droid programs.
And don't feel discouraged - just think of all that loot you bagged!
when the first wave comes on - fire your boosteres and lead them away from the shuttle at the rendezvous point. then do a an insystem hyperjump (another sector of the system u are in).
now u can fly back to your rendezvous point without getting further agro.
i learned this tactic on this tier 3 mission and used it on several others (smugglers 2nd tier 4 for example).

I battled wave after wave for 1.4 hours the other night before getting blown to bits. This was also before I knew what and how to use the droid commands.
BTW.. how many "deliveries" are there?
The waves of ships do not stop spawning untill you successfuly dock with the drop off ship and make the delivery. A fast engine (You want to be going 900+ ), engine overload and capacitor to shield shunt is what you need.
Method #1
As soon as you get the waypoint for the drop off, run to it and don't stop to fight.
If you are freelance use your IFC scramble while you dock for a little bit of a breather. If your imperial use bomber strike before you dock. If your rebel then you just die like the scum you are HARRR. Seriously I don't know what the rebs can use.
Method #2
As soon as you have the drop off point, hyper to another sector in the same system trying to time the jump with the first wave. This buys you some time to figure out what sector the drop off is actualy in. Once you figure it out either by useing the map or jumping untill your close to the drop off point, go make the drop off quickly.
I just did this mission a couple days ago, in about 30 minutes. There are three deliveries then an escort mission.
I did it in an Ixiyen, Type IV shield, two Advanced Blasters (.268 refire, 2540 max damage) Old school Level 6 reward engine onlyrecently RE'd.
For me, the Type IV shield and engine really won it for me. Get in fast, dock, you take a few hits when the spawns load in, the Type IV took the punishment handily. Undock, kill'em fast, on to the next rendezvous, wash, rinse, repeat. May I personally thank whoever it was that put me onto the idea of speed experimented weapons? I have never seen Tier 3s simply vaporize like that. ![]()
Only had one spawn per rendezvous.
Anytime you have to dock with a ship while under fire, there are two good methods.
1) If the enemies don't spawn until you reach the waypoint, just fly in, dock as fast as possible and you should be fine (if you have better than newbie shields) until the docking is done. CTSS makes this even easier.
2) If the enemies spawn on the way to the waypoint (and then won't stop until after the docking is complete), then always disable rather than kill. Disable as many as you can, then boost to the rendezvous and dock. You'll have minimal harassment this way.
Both ways trivialize this type of mission.

I have a few choice words for whoever designed this mission, but I won't repeat them hear for respect to those with sensitive eyes. Just tried this for the first time this morning. Went to engage the Death Watch guys before docking thinking it might be a couple waves. They're tier 3's, no problem. I couldn't even finish off one wave before the next one came in. Started disabling left and right, but I still didn't have enough time to get to the shuttle and dock. Gonna have to find a new shield and maybe a new engine now that I can use level 6 and 7 stuff, I guess. My poor Dunelizard took one hell of a beating during that mission.
