Thread: Best heavy gunboat for Privateers?

I love my Dunelizard, but I'm considering moving to a heavier fighter with more weapon slots. I'll soon have access to the Rhikxyrk, but I was wondering if I should just hold out for the M-22 Krayt. I'll probably get either the Vaksai or try saving up for the Belbullab for a fast attack ship, so I was wondering what you Privateer folk thought. Thanks

For firepower use the Rihk but be sure to use as much mass as you can for shields and armor (you will need it), but I went toe to toe with a tier 4 gunboat in mine and was still able to take out the escort. If that isn't your style or if you need more speed and maneuvering use the bel-22 or vaksai. after you ace replace your Rihk with the krayt. It turns better, has more mass, and can have a turret mounted 4th weapon.

Im like you, I love the dunelizard too, the only other ship I use than that is the Krayt. Its got more mass so i can fit better shields, engines and weapons. As for how the ship handles, it really depends on the engine, but the one I put in the Krayt performs better than the Dunelizard. Plus higher tier weapons with overcharge 3 and you can rock hehe. I have a Rihk butI NEVER use it. The krayt blows it away. Just my opinion tho

Rihk owns. Massive firepower, massive mass, great hardpoints.

If I buy a ship and don't want it anymore, I can always re-deed it and sell it later, right? I'd hate to buy a Rhik and then very shortly later have to turn around and save up for a Krayt as well. Thanks for the advice.

i had a krayt but alwayws flew the rhik. the difference in mass isnt all that big, and i never had any trouble equiping teh rhik the way i wanted it anyway. they both manuver roughly the same also.

but the rhik for me was much much more accurate. i could kill fighters three times as fast in a rhik than my krayt, sinply because the shots went where i wanted them to and i never missed. i would hold down the trigger and in three salvos a tier5 fighter would be vaporized.

Yes you can redeed and sell it or turn it into a mining ship like I did. the 3 gun slots let me put 2 mining lasers and till plently of mass to handle a lvl 10 gun for the asteroid bandits.
