Thread: which rebel squad to join?

Made the switch to rebel, now I am dumping freelance Pilot (along with my much beloved and long screwed over Master Smuggler). Which squadron is "best?" Meaning pros and cons of each outfit. I really just want to fly an x-wing, not much for PVP.

Crimson Phoenix would be my choice.

Its tougher than the others by far, so you get a better sense of accomplishment on receiving your jacket and helmet.

Plus you can do what i did, help friends in the other squadrons on their missions and when it finishes go "Is that it, 5-10 mins, my mission for this box was over an hour long and took several guys helping me to complete it!".

There is nothing quite like showing off!

Really? I did Arkon's the first time (back at launch), and now I'm doing Crimson Phoenix. Now maybe inexperience (and faulty memory) is clouding my recollection of the first run at master, but I thought the Tier 4 missions for Phoenix were a LOT easier than Arkon's. The last one in particular is close to a cakewalk.

From what I gather none of the Reb Squadrons are particularly hairy, unlike the Imp choices.

I would say that Crimson Pheonix is the easiest Reb squadron, it has it's moments but the right load-out will see you through all the missions without help. Havok is I think the one with the most challenging missions, some of the Tier 4's are quite nasty. I consider Vortex the most difficult but only because of the non-mission related spawns that you run into, the missions themselves are not so difficult. Just my opinion though.
