All,
I am nub to space and am enjoying it so far, except for one major problem I can't seem to figure out....Hope I can explain this right....
First off I use a mouse, but I also have a nostromo gamepad hooked up for ground (if it makes any difference)
OK..to my problem
I'm puttin along in space and all is well and good.....then
(don't know how exactly to recreate this but it inevitably happens after me being in space about 5 mins)
All of a sudden my field of view seems to change. I normally scroll all the way out and view from the back of the ship. But when this happens, my view is kinda sideways and I cannot control anything. When I scroll all the way in to cockpit view it looks like I am staring at the side of my ship....only way it seems to fix is if I hyperspace. When I come out my controls are back to normal
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to solve this problem, and thx to it I'm never in space more than 10 minutes till I get frustrated and go back to the ground. I really wanna get past this issue, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how...
Any input would be appreciated...
Thx

My guess is that it's also partially a controls conflict. If you're not using the pad, disable / unplug it and see if that works.

Edit: I was also thinkin the same thing, unplugging my nostromo...but hopefully thats not the answer cuz i'm lazy

Options>Controls>Set your mouse to Virtual Joystick instead of Automatic.

I've actually tried that, both
Virtual Joystick, and Automatic.. have the same problem either way....
Unfortunately....

Try numlock, as well. If it's the same thing that happens to me, anyhow.

when he hits alt and is out of the "virual joystick" mode, then when he drags the cursor off screen it will pan the view around. there is no way to "prevent" that other than never move your mouse off the edge of the screen, but you can easily re-center the view by hitting 5 on the numpad.
the numlock is for padlock view. if your view stays centered on your target at all times, then numlock will change that.

well numlock actually fixes this problem yay!
but why I have no clue....
Whenever it happens i hit numlock and it corrects itself.....5 did not work. I'm happy, but still so confused
Thx all ![]()
