when i did storm squadron i thought it was going to be easy, or at least it sounded easy by their "description". I am having a heck of a time getting through endor space while trying not to get ganked by random npc's. Did i make a mistake doing storm squadron?

As your first squad, yes.
I suggest you get some friends to help you, some missions can be a little rough, and go on for hours in some cases.

Although I don't know much about other pilot profs yet, I do know that you can't transfer your boxes but 2222 you can make back up in a night, and i probably wouldnt do rsf because i believe they can't obtain one ship that other privateers can get.

RSF is mostly easy, though the tier 4 exit mission is a doosey. If you haven't got a really good ship, you'll need friends to do it. Other than that its plain sailing.

Ok yeah rsf cannot not get arc-170 in my oppinion not a big loss, corsec is good because its really a neutral pilot prof, rsf is really REALLY imperial.

If you have never completed a pilot prof.... then Black Epsilon and Storm Squadron are the hardest.
My observations of the Imperial Pilot Profs....
- Black Epsilon: Heavy on the gunboats and bombers. I'd say you deal with more "big guns" in this squadron. Not the best choice for a beginner. (This was my first squadron and took roughly a week to complete with the help of friends shortly after JTL went live)
- Storm Squadron: Awings, Awings, AWINGS! So many AWings! Again, Storm Squadron is hard due to a few factors. First the missions are just ungodly long. Second is the fact that they just throw wave after wave of AWings at you. Less Gunboats and "Big Guns" than Black Epsilon. So again, difficult for a beginner but a nice challenge for your 2nd or 3rd Ace badge. (Completed this as my 4th squadron in under20 hours.)
- Imperial Inquisition: Now this is the squadron to start with as a beginner. Not as many waves of intercepters to deal with, shorter escorts, and less Gunboats than the 2 previous squadrons. (this was my 2nd squadron and took 18 hours to solo)
So not to start the same old "My squadron is harder than yours...." stuff, but IMHO.... Black Epsilon and Storm Squadron or almost equally as hard, matters which you have a harder time with. SS = long escorts and 100's of small fighters. BE = Lots of gunboats and medium/heavy fighters. Imp Ing is kind of in the middle of those two extremes.
I suggest Imp Inq as the best "starting prof" for any Imperial Pilots, plus you get to land at the Emporers Retreat which has it's advantages.

i am thinking of going neutral for the yt anyway , ilike them. Which is the easiest neutral out of corsec or rsf.
