I am currently a rebel...i'm also a rebel pilot 2/2/2/2
I'm planning on getting this cool ship, and will obviously have to become imperial to do so...so i assume when i leave the rebellion, Ill lose all my pilot skills, and have to go imperial pilot and such. Heres my questions:
1) Im under the impression I start as a novice imperial pilot with no skilsl what-so-ever except novice. is this true?
2) I heard the last mission in this quest is in space where you go up against tier 3 ships. if this is the case, Will I have to level up my imperial ship to do so? Or is there another way?
Thank you for any and all help. :-D
1. You would, but there is no need to be an imperial pilot. You get the ship from GROUND missions. No flying is required.
2. You are given the ship before this mission. So you do not have to complete it if you are after the ship. All mission leading up to this are gorund based.

1) True
2) Bring some friends with Tier 3 or higher skills. The final battle is somewhat tough but my bud and I finished it twice but we were Tier 4.You could get it done with a group andyou notbe Tier 3 to finish it. You could stay novice but you would not last long or do much to help in combat.
** In order to Fly the JSF, you have to finish the space battle. If you don't want to fly the JSF, you don't need to finish the quest.

Oh man that rocks hard. How long did it take you to get up to tier 4 since you got the ship?

INCORRECT!
Sorry, but you do NOT need to finish the space battle to fly the ship.
I did the ground missions, I got the deed from vador, who then said I should lead forces in space, I left the planet, left the imperials, sborted his mission, and joined the rebels. Got back to tier four last night, and am cruising around.
P.S.
The proof is in the fact that he gives you the ship before the mission.

Posted a guide up above, but have gone from novice to 4333 in about....3 days or so.
Having a friend help you is key. the grinding part to 2222 with a high level friend should not take more than a few hours.
The tier three is as fast as your frineds can kill.
Tier four, if done right, should take 8-10 hours.

Crap.... I was wrong. I wasn't Tier 4 when I did this mission so I was confused about why I couldn't fly it before the mission. I was also reading that other ships required the quest to be completed to fly the ship (ie ARC, Heavy X...etc)
