Thread: one of them hey st00pid moments

Before I get started regaling you with this tale of foolishness... Please note this is not a flame and I dont want it to become one =P


So, as most of you know... I moved a toon to Starsider (sadly one w/o any pilot boxes). So I am grinding up a toon so you SS Rebels can shoot me down in DS... Special thanks to Leaph for the helping hand btw! /salute


Sooo back to my story...


Since I hate not having ANY rank at all... I typically grind out the tier missions while OVERT... yes, OVERT. Now - normally peeps see "Imperial Pilot Initiiate" or a TIE Fighter and leave me be (or what ever ship I am in)... but today I got vaped! =)


I have been doing this for... well as long as I can remember. My pvp defenses dont go up until I zone out of the "standard" zones... So here I am... looking at 9500 meters of flight in front of me... Oh quick AFK - I got time... NPCs wont hurt me fast enough to worry, besides I will hear the blasters and I am pretty sure I am faster than them anyhow.


So I go AFK - lol....


Play with my dog some... and WHAM WHAM WHAM - Uh oh...


Jump to the controls EJECT is already up.. WTH?


Then I see the two Advanced X-Wings (I wont name names - Dont want this to seem like a flame :smileyhappy and they finish me off.


Oh man =/ Now I have to do the mission over! Escort in Naboo... Jump to Yavin and inspect some ship... you know what I am talking about. So I shoot this fellow, a nice guy btw, a tell... I say, "Nice Kill..." and then we start chatting... I tell him I was AFK and he laughs. He thinks I am mad but in fact, and he figured this out over the course of the discussion, I wasnt. I was AFK while OVERT in SPACE. Yep... I am st00pid. =P


So in summary...


Dont go AFK in space... especially if you are OVERT.

Can you PM me the names? I'm really curious as to whether it was any of RS's pilots.


EDIT:
And I don't want to know so I can chew anyone out. I've been killed while Overt because of a CTD--stuff happens. I just want to know who did it.

Shot you the PM - only caught one of their names though.


If I wasnt 'on a mission' to finish up the grind - I would have went and 'played' with them... Even at T3, I have a few surprises up my sleeves *wink*

I was hoping my first PVP death would have been at the hands of Leaph, Halyn, and Co... in some epic space battle... but life is life. =P

So spacey's on SS now? I suppose ill have to get my ass back ingame sooner or later. Im kinda taking a hiatus atm. Waiting for publish 24, or whenever i get bored with SilentHunter3, not sure which.

As for those 2 Xwings.. well, if it were me, i know one things for sure, one of them is going to be sucking vaccume before i do.

EDIT:
considering rebel numbers are at an all time high, and imperial numbers are extremely low (last i played a week or so ago), well, sounds like an insult from bandgwagoneers, but im just touchy that way.

Well, starsider is known as the busiest JTL server with lots of PvP
