only the rebels and Imps get flightsuits but freelancers get a bandoleer that acts as a backpack. I haven't done smuggler's alliance yet but CorSec was a good storyline, plus you get to choose which vette you kill for your master mission (rebel or Imp).

The only neutral I haven't done yet is RSF, but I think they're all fun in different ways.
Smuggler's Alliance did have alot of funny mission briefings, and you get to run around and work for alot of different bosses, including the big Jabba man himself.
But CorSec is just as much fun.
The rewards do not differ from one squadron in the same faction to another. Meaning as long as you're in a privateer squadron, you'll get the same rewards as in any other privateer squadron. So its really just 3 different sets of rewards like you said.
Imperials get the neatest flight suit though. Tie Pilot Uniform with matching Tie Helmet.
They're all cool though, just in different ways.

I just finished RSF last night. It's about the same as all the other freelance squads in terms of missions. The last tier 4 mission is a killer though (in a good way). The final part involves 10 or so tier 4/5 fighters and 2 tier 4 gunboats. Quite fun.
Which one is the "coolest"? My freelance toon is going back to Corsec (now that he's done all three), so I would have to say Corsec.
