Generally speaking, Yes.

Only exception is the Tie oppressor, does well in both. Although in some cases i'll have the two of the same ship. For example i have my PvE Tie advanced, and my PvP tie advanced. Both are set up entirely differenly.

i use a heavy z95 in pvp and an advanced x wing in pve

although i do pvp in the heavy x wing, when i go to deepspace for the free repairs i always to a quick patrol to scan for imps, if theres only one, i engage in my x wing, and leave, if theres 2 i engage in my x wing, die and come back in my headhunter

Thats funny, I have 3 Krayts in my datapad. All 3 are HUGE damage hoses, I just have too many uber blasters to only have 1 krayt. I like to think of myself as a Commodore with a Krayt fleet.

I use my B-22 for PVP, sweet engine, semi-sweet weaponry.

Well?

I noticed two fundamental differences between PvE and PvP

-PvE depends mostly upon your damage per second and how fast you can kill the bad guys.

-Effective PvP relies more on maneuverability than raw damage output.

So keeping that in mind, do you personally use the same ship for PvE and PvP?

Most definitely use different ships. My Imperial char uses an Oppressor for PVE right now. But of course along with two nice large blasters I carry missles in all 3 available slots just in case I run in to a Rebel. But if PVP is the order of the day I fly a TIE Advanced.

My Rebel who doesn't really do much PVP at the moment has a Heavy X-wing for PVE and a A-wing for PVP. Note: The A-wing loadout is not up to my satisfaction atm but I am working on it.

I've got two ships set up that can do both, but not equally well.

My A-Wing is primarily PvP, but if Deep Space is empty, its got enough firepower that I can amuse myself with gunboats and TIEs.

My Advanced X-Wing is agreat PvE ship, fitted with Image Rec II and an L10 Engine that gives it more than modest PvP capability.

My advanced Xwing covers both and is the king in both too!

Roughly about 30 to 1 PvP ratio in the advanced X and it cuts through PvE really quick, same with my standard X too.

I use a TIE Interceptor for PvP because I love the way it looks, but I can handle most PvE in it too.

I use a TIE Advanced as my PvE only ship. I don't go overt in it but if I did I know I would get killed really quick by a player. It just doesn't have the engine need to be competative... although the lvl 8 and lvl7 guns really pack a punch.
