Thread: An idea for combining ground and space GCW

Ok, so I was thinking about PVP in general the other night, and how to make it more accessable (ie..centralized). Of course the answer is battlefields just like Deep Space. So we know SOE has gotten the "instanced zone" thing down pretty well; so why not place a space station in DS that opens into several different instanced ground battlefields? Now GCW soldiers would have to board POBs to be carried to the battlefield, and those POBs in turn would need fighter support to make it there.
Now this gives pilots a very important task and that elusive "content" that we crave; and gives the ground pounders a reletively lag free and open place to do battle. Just imagine the awe as you enter deep space carrying a load of soldiers...TIE's coming from all angles...your fighter screen evading and protecting your ship...gunners swearing and panick firing all around...
Freelancers would be able to fly through without getting aggro....unless a successful scan were made by an opposing player ship; this would play up the "smuggler" aspect of the freelance pilots.
I know its a pipe dream but the thought hit me and I said "I would love to play a game like that!!" so I thought I would share it here
So what other ideas have you guys got...add to it if you want maybe someone on high will think its a good idea, you never know.

you mean a space station in DS?
dunno if we would want another one of those....
perhaps a factional station above each planet that counts for so many points or bases or whatever twards factional control, and patrolled by a bunch of T5 fighters that are aligned with the station
enter the station and battle your way to the control room and change it to your faction
