Well, with Ace pilot I have speant a lot of time in Deep Space enjoying the nice loot and the good FP as well as a lovely PvP bout now and again. But I confess I am a badge collector at heart, and those other 5 ace badges (I will never go rebel, so those ones may as well not exist for me) are looking very appealing. Not to mention RSF with their Black Sun Helmet duties. As well, I'd love to hit Storm Squad just to say I've done it.
My dillema is I'm having fun making a difference (however small) in the GCW by donating faction to the PvP guilds on my server and dropping a few bases. Can FP be earned as a neutral pilot?

to eran FP as a nutral pilot you have to go overt in space to get FP even for killing the npcs vs a imperal pilot who can get FP for killing rebel npcs

It's fairly simpel to get FP as a neutral pilot:
If you're rebel on ground, you can only gain reb fp. Same for imp.
Just go declare yourself overt at a reb station (or imp, if you are imp on ground).
You can't enter DS when you are overt as a neutral pilot, but you can enter Kessel.

I'm STILL wondering what happens if your chassis is bugged and you head to Kessel ... while overtwith the OTHER faction. I think I'll test it once I get around to doing CorSec. I'm SA right now, and neutral on the ground.

You simply can't go overt to another faction than your ground faction.
The chassis bug occurs in deepspace. When you have to choose a side as a neutral pilot, that side you pick 'sticks' on the ship. So the next time you go to deepspace, you won't get the choice to pick which side you want to take, you'll just enter DS with the same sidepreference as you picked the first time you went to DS.
Redeeding the ship you used to go to DS resolves the problem though.
