I recently updated my droid chips and added in an upgraded Engine Overload chip. However...when I activated it all my systems shut down except the engine...which flew MUCH slower than it previously had. I landed hopeing to reset everything. No luck. WHen I lauched I was still disabled to heck. Tried repairing. Tried to Stabilize engine, but My Droid Interface was disabled.

I finally did fix the problem, but I had to take everything off my ship and redeed it and start over.

Why did this happen? I want to try to avoid it happening again.

Your reactor is not putting out enough power and is shutting down systems. Either use a reactor overload first or get a reactor that puts out more power.

Prolly overloaded your ship's power systems. If you don't have enough reactor generation for engine overload X, you will shut your ship down. The quick fix for this is to run an overload PILOT command like pump reactor, eshield, or whatever the freelance one is called. These commands reset your ship's droid and power settings to default (no overload). To be able to run your engine overload command, I suggest a bigger reactor if you can. Or you gotta trim some energy maintenance somehow.

and if it happens again, use /eshields or /ethrust (/eweapons works for Imps, but you bought a chip for it). Those commands reset overloads when they end, and you're back to normal.

was this by chance in a Vaksai?

I did the same thing, miscalculated the reactor energy I needed to run my ship, plus EO4. shut everything down except the engines. First thing I did was full repair at Naboo and land. re launched and no dice, everything was still disabled. so I tried to use Ethrust pilot skill to reset it, again no dice. I landed and re-deeded my ship, which cleared the problem. I decided to see if the bug was repeatable, so I did the same thing in my Rhyk and Dunelizard, as soon as I repaired and landed, things went back to normal...I think the Vaksai chassis may be bugged in this regard

Nope...it was in a JSF. But the two could be bugged in that regard.

Thanks for the input guys. Loaded Reactor Overload and have had stellar results.
