Thread: Would this be a waste of a 96.9 Quantum Ion drive?

I have a QID that has 96.9 speed, but the only good YPR I can get is 71s. The engine would look like this after RE:
Armor 678.5
Hitpoints 678.5
Energy Drain 1436.2
Mass 24524.9
Pitch 75.2
Yaw 75.4
Roll 75.3
Speed 101.8
I will probably wait a little longer to get a lower mass engine. Ireverse engineeredaHaor Chall engine before I knewwhat speeds were possible to get in a lvl 8, and it came out to 22040.3 mass. I really regret that, and I cry every time I look at it. Is the PYR ok, or should I hold out for higher values? I should have a bunch of QIDS soon, so I'm tempted to go ahead with this in hopes that I can get something even faster. I just hope the starmap quest hasn't been nerfed yet.

if you get really picky you can hit 78 post RE and get 1.4 in the crtl V

And might as well wait till at least Pub 24 for them to fix the RE stat on energy drain.

I did the same thing. Ended up with great PYR but speed only like high 80's or bottom 90's. If I could take one RE i've done back that would be it.

I've got one I RE'ed a little over a month ago. It has 74.x YPR and 103.x speed (was around 98.x Pre RE). It has about 23k mass. I love this engine. I've since gotten some with 73-74 YPR Pre-RE that would have been sweet with that speed but none the less, that 74YPR, 103sp, 23k mass engine rocks in my Advanced X. If you have a ship that could use this engine don't feel bad for RE'ing it. That will be a great engine. If you have the time to wait, hold off until Pub24 so you get the Energy Drain decreased and maybe find a few engines with better stats. Have fun with that one, it will be awesome!
