I just read all the FAQs, and the only thing I can find about setting up a droid/flight computer just makes vague reference to "chips" and that you can trade for or buy programmed ones, etc. I can't find detailed info on how to actually setup a flight computer/droid. Is there such a post somewhere?

i haven't seen any posts about it, but it's pretty simple. get an astromech droid or flight computer, generate, right click in your datapad and click program. window pops up, then you can move commands from the left side to the right side to program them into the droid, then click the button that says Commit. then when youve got a droid interface on your ship, you load up the droid at a starport ship terminal

The FAQ mentions needing certain kinds of chips... What are they and where do I get them?

You need ready chips if you want to do commands that are of a different pilot faction. personally i only use one command (yes, im a noob), and its in my pilot faction, so i never needed to get a chip, although i have seen them in different vendors around the galaxy. i'm guessing they're made by droid engineers, but i could be wrong.
