Well, i was done with captain Eker's missions so i head to dath science outpost to start working for my next rebel pilot trainer, i try my mission, and random tier 4's (which arnt part of the mission) come and shoot at me, i get kinda pissed so i try and again, what do ya know, SAME thing happens, so i try it once more, and yes, the SAME thing happens again, so i decide to get my friend to help out. I get the mission and we meet in space, we head to the mission and BAM. The SOE client crash bug. So im already pissed, and to make matters worse, this happens. Ok so i relog back in as quicky as i can. I am still in space (alive, yes suprising isnt it?) and i tell my friend "Sorry man, i crashed, where are you?" then he says, "I didnt know what was going on so i headed back to theed." So i think, great, now that SOE made me crash, my friend left, and soi have to do the mission by myself. I get farther than i did before, but then a tier 4 (keep in mind that i am only 2/2/2/2 rebel pilot) (who isnt part of the mission) attacks me (once again) and hurts my engine, then the TIE fighters end up killing me. If i had not crashed, then my friend still would have been there to make sure tier 4's didnt attack me (thats what i brought him along for) but of course good ole' SOE had to make me crash, and thus, i die in space and fail my mission one again (that would be the 4th time). Well i just wanted to thank SOE for doing this and making me have a crappy gaming experiance.

there is nothing to this except an observation so please don't take this personally and get all bent out of shape about what I'm going to say next.......I'm not sure SOE actually MADE you crash I'm sure something they did MIGHT have played a part in it but anything could have happened so I'm not sure they deserve your thanks.....just an observation

Ok lets face it... There are always going to be bugs, lag and death. SOE sometimes dosent have control of these things and it could have been an internet spike. Sometimes even video drivers tend to crash and that is why Video Card companies release updates. There are so many variables to this problem that you dont even understand. And not understanding is obvious in your statement.

1 maybe defraging your computer might help

2. looking to see if you need updated drivers for video card

3. Looking to see if maybe you need an updated driver for Network card (This is a big one everyone seems to neglect)

4. Check to see if your internet connection is reseting itself or if your ISP has changed IP address on your router or Network card. (Sometimes this happens when the lease to your IP address is up.)

5. check your hardware, make sure your disks arent failing as sometimes SWG needs alot of Fileswapping to do. (Defraging might hang up or not defrag your hard drive or never get done doing it. Sometimes it can be a hardware issue.)

6. Run Antivirus software and make sure your computer isnt wasting resources or virus kicking you out or taking up bandwidth.

7. Get a nice progi that repairs windows errors like Norton System Works Windoctor.

There are many many many different variables. These are some to make sure your not having and end user issue.

Good luck man.....

True True, but all of that does not change the fact that the devs put mission objectives next to mobs of tier 4 ships when youare low level. I had same frustrations doing imp storm squadron. I can understand in tier 3 and 4 missions because those are meant to be done in groups (which is good I think), but tier1 and 2 seems to be for a pilot to "get his feet wet" so when he can work well in a group on later missions

It's true there are many times in SWG that I just want to pull my hair out. But there are also many times that I think to myself how great a game SWG is and how much it has to offer.

With regards to your problem, yes there are two things IMO that really need to be fixed to help make life easier on aspiring ace pilots.

1. Fix spawning of high tier mobs next to mission waypoints.

2. If player with mission is grouped, make enemy npcs focus attack on all players in group, not just the mission taker.

That being said, it is always better to try and get as many players to assist you on missions as possible. As you progress up the tiers, it will inevitability become essential to do so depending on your skill level and ship/components.

As a Alliance Ace Pilot with a ship that can easily handle anything JTL has to offer right now, I make myself as available as possible to any pilot in need of assistance with their missions. It took the help of others to achieve master and I am happy to return the favor.

Well the best advice i can give you is to enter the sector where your mission is at the lowest risk hyperspace jump point. Sometimes you may have to use travel to go to theed or some other area in order for you to launch and jump to the safest spot. If you keep running into poi spawns that mess up your mission try starting your mission from a different jump point. Missions start from wherever you enter the sector. Thats the best advice i can give ya..I hope it helps.

I have helped on countless missions where the lower tier player seemed to be oblivious to any kind of aggro npc avoidance; they just plowed right into the flock of red dots and wondered why they got attacked.

The answer to "why did you fly right into them" has usually been, "because that's the direction of my mission wp". GO AROUND THINGS!!! Set you radar to 8km at all times and keep all red dot non-mission mobs on or outisde of the red armor ring.

I realize there are 'some' mission wps that do sit right in the middle of aggro mobs, but more often then not the aggro problems I have seen and heard about could be easily avoided by just flying a few km around mobs instead of through them.

Yah, I've noticed this as well. On most missions, it doesn't matter if you take the extra 2 minutes to go around the huge spawn of Tier 4 enemies in your path. However, there are also instances where this isn't a viable option, such as when you need to intercept an enemy before they hyperspace out of the region. If it does happen that you need to go through the spawn, either hit IFF Scramble when you do, or if your Imperial just pray to the gods, lol.

i totaly agree with this.

the key to being a good pilot is situational awarness, you have to know whats going on around you or your gonna get served, guaranteed.
