Thread: Question for the Developers...

Soo.... Are you going to make it possible for those of us without untold millions of credits.. (i.e.: Those of us that refuse to exploit "cash Bugs".... those of us that refuse to become slaves to the ground credit grind)... to survive on what we loot in space?

The entire reason I procured both SWG and JtL was for the space combat and associated life in space. When you altered the loot drops, you made it virtually impossible for me to survive on space-loot alone... and have considerably diminished my enjoyment of JtL/SWG.

Either fix what you screwed up... or stand by to lose an account.

yeah, ok. I helped a guy out with a tier 3 mission on friday and sold my loot. made a cool 200k on it, then on a tier 4 mission with another guy, i made enough on look to get almost to 350k on one mission. Really not that hard to live off of loot, espescially seeing as how you only have the cost to repair your ship in space, which really isn't that much. Top all of this off with the credit chip i had in my inventory for 44k per mission, yeah, you are just whining to be whining.

hmmm.... All I can say is this...

While grinding on the Sunrunner Tier2 Duty Missions, out of 40+ kills, I looted three items... three low-lvl loot items out of 40+ kills. Total "reward" of about 10k... kinda "thin", by my standards.

If this is "operating as designed/intended", then there is something seriously wrong with the design.

Its all with your luck with the loot at the time. I've gotten a piece of loot every 3 kills before, and I've also had instances where I go and kill 10-15 enemies without so much asacrappy piece to show for it. Its just luck with the numbers game as far as I can tell.

Tier 2 could be considered pretty "thin" by risk/reward standards too.

I think things are pretty good the way they are. Just today, I was working on the last 300k xp I needed to finish my last tier 4 box, I made around 500k. About 150k of it came from doing the one time only space station missions from Lok & Yavin. The rest came only from doing the pirate destroy missions from Dantooine space station. Its all tier 2 and 3 ships (though sometimes the mission puts you around other tier 3 or 4 aggros), and the mission gives 1800 credits to 5400 credits per round of pirates, plus I ended up with more than a full inventory of loot, ranging from level 1 to level 8, and a 70k credit chip. This was about 3 hours work, but IMO, its not bad.

Since Friday night I have dropped off loot bags at my SW with a total value of approx. 2 Million credits. This is flying on average of 4 hours a day.

but that may just be my luck right now. For a while I got jack.

It is completely luck.

Everyone has their individual frustrations with the game, but it seems strange to me when individuals cry out for developer action to cater to their individual needs alone, or "(*pouts*) You will lose my account!!". Enough people have explained the luck of loot drop, but if you bought SWG and JTL for the space combat alone, you would probably be better off with X-Wing or any of the straight space combat sims. (Also /agree with the "you want loot, please go after more than the space equivalent of a Meatlump Fool.")

SWG is an immersive MMORPG, with everything associated with that. I have dabbled in other MMORPG's (including WoW) and none of them come close to the complexity, ease of use, fun factor, ability to be unique, etc. that SWG has. If you are saying that you only want to play half the game (and I think that space actually does not even represent half of SWG as a whole, but whatever) and then you say you are unhappyand changes need to be made, does that truly make sense? "Hi, I bought this game, and only play 1/3 of how itwas designedas a whole, and it doesn't work for me. Change it."

Not only that, but I unfortunately have to disagree with your initial point as well. You can make gobs of cash in space. I am not trying to flame, I promise. But ask around, many people are making mountains of cash just by flying in space. (I'm not one of them, because Chef keeps me in the biscuits alone. ) But before you give up on a great game, try making some changes to your play style and see if it is more rewarding for you? (in both fun AND in credits. )

This really is a stupid post. First of all i dont believe the pilot profession was intended to be able to make all your money from that alone anyways. Second, it's just like when you are a newb on normal swg, the missions you start out on are easy, simple, and you get a very little reward for it. I am a tier 2 rebel pilot and i made around 100k last night in about 2 hours of gameplay. Go to dathomir and fight more advanced ships, tier 3 , tier 4, and they give some loot, and a lot of experience.

I would agree with that too. Their are plenty of places to go loot. Just find a good steady spawn and go at it for about 20 - 30 min and your inventory wil literally be full of loot. Even the masses of tier 1's in Tattoine space give good loot, and you can kill them faster

Um, last time I checked it costs exactly... um... ZERO credits to participate in JTL's space combat.

The prototype ships are free... AND have functioning hyperdrives & upgradable components. Heck, you don't even have to pay to repair them.

There's absolutely no travel expenses.

There's no buffs to buy.

You procured SWG & JTL for space combat and "associated life" in space? Where's the problem? What exactly is making it "virtually impossible" for you to survive?

P.S.: I've made more credits playing JTL over the course of a few weeks than I have in over a YEAR of the ground game. Perhaps it's your expectations that need fixing?
