To my knowledge, it's still more wounds and more damage to your ship.

ok this is probably a stupid question, but what is the difference between ejecting and just blowing up. i know what it used to be but its been changed since the cu. anyone know what it is now.

I was flying a mission last night and was getting frustrated by the swarms of fighters that when the eject button popped up I got "I'm mad" click happy. Big mistake, my ship exploded over and over for close to
a minute. When I was back at the space station, I kept on exploding a few more times. Ended up with 1k of BF and 1600 wounds.
Lessons learned are: 1. Take friends to help you, 2. Only press eject once.
