Thread: Possible bug with RE'd Boosters?

I'm looking for some kind of confirmation from anybody else experiencing this problem.

Awhile ago I REd a booster and put it into my Firespray. After a little while I noticed that the booster sound effect no longer played when engaged. Not only that but their was no visible sign of the boosters themselves on the outside of the ship.

I then tried loading a looted booster which worked fine. Now I have just REd another Level 6 booster and it too does not show up on the ship or play the sound effect. They work fine in that it still boosts the engine speed, drains, and recharges normally.

So I'm thinking that there must be some kind of bug with REd boosters. I'm not sure if this spans all levels of REd boosters or even on all ships.I guess I can load them up in my X-Wing to at least see if it is only a FS bug since I've noticed another FS only peculiarity with my shields only being at 1/3 charge the first time I launch into space.

Don't know really what to say about the shield thing minus the fact that it isn't a bug. If you land and the shields don't have a full charge on em, even if you sell the shields, they're not going to be at 100% as soon as you launch, it'll still have to charge up...

This may be a bug with level 6 RE boosters and/or the firespray. My level 4 RE boosterssound just fine to me. The roar for a good long time too(2100+ reserve on them with a 147 consumption rate).

Not really sure if I remember this right, I put a booster, not RE'ed, a looted one that looked like it had a cage around it, and it didnt show on my X-wing, but the ones that are the normal looking one do show up on the ship, it might be the way they fit in the ship, but I really have no idea beyond that.

I've had the same issue with all RE'd booster that I've put in any of my ships...b-wing, y-wing, x-wing, a-wing.........no booster sound, no visual representation that they are even equipped except that they are actually working. non-RE'd boosters work fine though.

for the record, I use nothing but level 7 and level 8 boosters....and seeing as though this bug is happening with all my ships, I don't think it's a problem with the ships or the level of boosters...and agree that it has something to do with the RE process.

Anway, it's not a big deal to me because I only use boosters sparingly and on my lower mass ships, I don't even use booster anymore.....but so as long as they boost me when I use them, I could care less about the sound as I'm normally listening to music when I playe anyway

Certain boosters don't show up on the ships frame, and certain ones do. If you want them to actually show, before you RE them test each booster on your ship first and see if it actually appears. Find one that appears and in the style you like, then have the shipwright put that booster into the analysis tool first. Whichever component you put in first determines the visual appearence, the base name, and in the case of weapons, the projectile type as well.

Here is somthing I noticed. While managing mykrayt the booster was showing. I changed engines and the booster nolonger showed. So I unloaded the booster and then reloaded it, now it shows again. Think it had something to do with the booster acctually being mounted to the engine itself. Anyway, this may or may not be related, hope it helps.

Very few ships have that issue, the Krayt/Kimogila are the ones I know of. Obviously the booster can't be showing if its attached to the engine but there is no engine, it would just be floating in midair.

I think you misunderstood about the shields. It is a bug.

This only happens the first time I launch into space in my Firespray after I have logged on. The shields will be at about 1/3 full even though I KNOW the last time I landed they were fully charged. After the first time the shields will remain full whenever launching into space. Again, it is only when launching into space for the first time after logging in.

Neither of these are show stoppers but bugs none the less and I have done a /bug in game.

Thanks for the confirmations though.
