The Starspeeder 3000 is a older model, but one that has proven itself worthy over the years. In constant use since the waning days of the Galactic Republic, the Starspeeder 3000 can be seen in spaceports and docking facilities all over the galaxy.
Piloting and navigation capabilities are all handled by the RX pilot droid and the accompanying R2 Astromech unit. This allows Star Tours to reduce life support needs for the crew, focus all shipboard resources to the passenger module, and reduce overall space. Smaller ships means more efficiency, allowing Star Tours to keep costs low.
The ship is equipped with few amenities. The defector shield is at as minimum specifications as possible, and still conform to BoSS safety regulations. The Starspeeder also has a pair of light blaster cannons, mostly designed for dealing with space debris. Inside is not much better, featuring a spartan seating area, with only a view port towards the front to look out from and one SanFac to share amongst the 40 passengers. With star tours, economy, not luxury, is the order of the day.

The StarSpeeder 3000 is a tourist spacecraft in the fictional Star Wars universe. Holding 40 beings in comfort and (relative) safety, it can travel throughout the galaxy at light speed. The StarSpeeder 3000 is fully automated and piloted by a pair of droids, a pilot RX droid and an astromech droid navigator. The StarSpeeder 3000 has traveled to Hoth, Tatooine, the Forest moon of Endor, Anaheim, Orlando, Paris, and Tokyo, making it an exceptionally versatile craft.

I remember going on that ride, that was awesome. If they put this ship in the game, even if it were just as a shuttle, it'd be pretty cool.

I always thought it'd be fun to have a Star Tours booth in the starport and one of those things to ferry you around the galaxy.

Sometimes I think the devs based the ships that land at shuttleports (the tiny boxy ones, not the ones that land at star ports)off of the starspeeder 3000.

They are definately similar, when I first saw them I actually thought that's where they got them from...
