Thread: A question about Ixein, Ixien, Ixxiejn (whatever) starfighters
Its not too hard to find 100K mass Ixiyens(sp?) which zoom around and decent weapons. If it wasnt for the JSF being a smaller profile, this would be the king tbh.

Even PvE its good to have as small a ship as possible. I remember flying Rhixxykthingybobs and not being able to get close enough to a vette as it always bullseyed me from 1000m.
I enjoyed my Ixiyen until I got my Rihkxyrk. The Ixiyen handles VERY nicely and has a good mass capacity and weapons loadout.
The only reason I stopped flying it is because my Rihkxyrk is an effin' TANK. So I needed an engine for PYR instead of speed, but no Ixiyen made can dish it out or take it like that Ryx.
Enjoy the Ixiyen, it's a good ship.

Imo, its just a slightly larger but less agileDunelizzard. The stats say it all:
[Spdx 0.95 Acc 30 Dec 30 Pitch 300 Yaw 300 Roll 150]
[Spdx 0.95 Acc 25 Dec 30 Pitch 200 Yaw 200 Roll 100]
If you don't believe in the difference 10 tons can make in a ship, I don't know what to tell you. 10 tons can mean the difference between adding a missile launcher and countermeasures, or having to forego them. It can mean having to pass on bigger guns, better shields, you name it.
Also remember that the difference in mass is only approximate - the increase on a fully-experimented Ixiyen vs. a fully-experimented Dunelizard will be a LOT more than 10 tons. Probably more like 20 - if you still don't think that makes a difference, ask anyone who had to fly a 20-ton fighter for an entire Tier.
Sure, if you don't need the mass, stick with the Dunelizard. I didn't find the change in manueverability to be a hindrance compared to the extra payload.
Well, I for one will disagree with the above posters. The only ship I used to master in Freelance was the DuneLizard.
Then again, I came from the imp side of the house where fast and nimble is preferable, and I do not care what engine you wedge into any of the jumbled alphabet ships, they can't be described as nimble.
Boils down to personal preference really.
