Hmm just so you know you cant wait at a safe distance, you have to personally damage one of the subsystems of the ship to pass the mission.

try your galaxy forums or check the pilot helper list at the top of this forum. they should help you for free but you will have to get you "hands" dirty.

One of my squadrons I got the mission successful message while sitting AFK all alone in Kessel. That's how tough I am - the vette didn't even dare show up!

While I was getting ready to do my Ace, I was near several Corvettes that were destroyed, My mission did Not auto-complete, as those above report theirs did. I even fired on a couple of them, though, no subsystem damage.
I finally solo'd my Vet! hehe

Bah, you guys and your easy vettes.
Two star ravangers about 4KM apart. (NO JOKE).
Pull fighters from one, loose track of which vette your on, end up with all fighters from both. Then both vettes start to bucking like wild bronco's while the gunboats are still in tow.
Worst vette run ever.

A few shots on the Vette is easy enough once it's stopped, the gunboats are clear/gone, and gun 5 is out. Come in from low and take out guns 6 and 7, they tend to be sitting ducks.

I was trying to help a Rebel friend take out the Imperial Corvette. I was still an Imperial Combatant and when I came to attack the 'vette, I did no damage. And to my advantage, the 'vette did no damage to me. So, while that Rebel friends and the rest of the party was shooting the 'vette down, I "hovered" above the four guns on top of the 'vette. All four continued to shoot me, never turning to attack the rest of the group. They destroyed it and he got Master. I wondered if this would is working correctly. Shouldn't I have been Overt in space for the 'vette not to hurt me, instead of on the being a combatant on the ground?

I think you need to be at least within close proximity of the vette when its destroyed. I dont know if you need to at least get a few shots in on one of the major components or not. The reason why I bring this up is that we did the
corvette for one of our guildies a few nights back.
he never did get a shot in but did get hammered a few times...barely survived.....but still got credit for it.

I know my friend, who was a RSF Pilot (didn't know he'd be working for the Empire) rode in his friends to do the master quest, not realizing his friend was rebel, meaning he couldn't damage a Rebel Vette. Got the wrong faction sound effect when they shot it. However after another group in the area killed it, he got the message he had passed the mission and sure enough, got Master Pilot when he got back to his trainer. Looks like you don't actually have to damamge anything so long as you hit it.
