Thread: Where are the Black Sun ships? AKA Loot parts removed from game?

As a Freelancer 3433, I went out last night into space, set to get some xp and cool loot to use/sell. I destroyed about 50 ships and absolutely looted NONE! This happened on the Infinity-server. Does this happen on other servers too? Is it because the server has not been reset for some days?

Also, in need to get some Illegal Core Boosters for a damage slice on my weapons, I went out looking for some tier 4 and 5 Black Sun ships after my duty mission. Hyperspaced to Endor and Yavin 4, but didn't find any... Can you guys give me some WP's to locations in space where I can find these chaps and blow them back into the Sun they came from?

Does there exist a thorough guide (here on the forums or on the net) of what kind of ships you can find where in space? This definately would help in the grind... Especially if you go out looking for some loot...

Kind regards,

Black suns in duties seem to have crappy drop rate.

As I said, I went after the Black Suns after my duty mission...

Basically my question regarding them is: where do I find them? Do any of you know of a static spawn place for them?

Only one I know of is the one by Red Sin Chimera in Endor. Truthfully every single one of the illegal core boosters I have looted has been from a B-Wing in Kessel. Would be nice to know I could get one elsewhere.

That's odd, I picked up one Illegal Core booster, and it was doing the Rebel Vette in Kessel (I think, though it COULD have been the 30 ships before that).

I've picked up two Illegal Core Boosters and two Reactive Micro Plating from the Death Watch guys in Endor space.

I have absolutely no trouble garnering loot, my current issue is, instead, the storage of it. 7 houses Full, bank mostly so, and SoroSub almost as well. It's long past time to knuckle down and do some REing, and then... Putting up for sale those items I don't wish, and destroying those of absolutely no value. I am also looking at re-opening a third account for yet more houses I'm finally using a bit more discretion when it comes to Reverse Engineering anything level 6 and over, which explains some of the reluctance to Put on the ship wright hat but... not all of it.

Black Sun drop rates vary - I've been keeping track of my BS missions, and have charted my last 25 or so sorties, chronicling the parts by level/mission and level/tier. Drop rates range widely - I've had as few as 7 and as many as 19 in a mission.

One thing I have noticed - if you start with a totally empty inventory and just go after a random spawn, the loot drops appear in a sine wave; you'll get a flurry of drops in short order, and then the drops will slow up until you will blow up 30-50 ships without a hit, then the drops will pick up again. It's happened to me nearly every single time I've done an extended loot sortie. Also, where you are in the sine wave changes from sortie to sortie.

Just something I've noticed.

you don't have to destroy it. Chassis dealers will still take RE'd parts for the same price. So the ones that arent worth putting in a ship can still be sold for a few K
