I was told that the quest that rewards the jedi star fighter is only open to players of the imperial faction, which would be a problem for me because my character is a master pilot in the rebel alliance and hes a colonel.

If I were to have my character join the imperial faction and do the quest, could I still continue to use the jedi star fighter if my character went backinto the rebel alliance? I was told that I could switch back to the rebel alliance and still continue to use the jedi star fighter... is this true?

Where does the quest begin?

My last question isabout the annoying red and blue squares that surround friendly and hostile targets in space. Is there any way I can disable these blue and red squares?

I was in the hospital for almost 2 months and logged in 3 days ago. I've been playing this game since it's launch but I feel like a newbie again.

You can fly the JSF as a rebel if you did the quest and are certified (4xxx) to fly it. In order to do the quest, however, you must be a ground Imperial. Once you change ground faction to Imperial you will lose all of your Rebel pilot skills. I am also told, however, that since you have mastered a pilot profession once you can regain it later by only getting 1/2 the normal amount of xp if that is any consolation. In conclusion, if you want the JSF you must become a ground Imperial thereby losing all your Rebel pilot skills and ground rank, complete the mission and then regrind to Rebel 4xxx.

What I'm doing is just going Privateer and saving myself one grind. Sure I don't get an X-Wing anymore but I get a JSF, ARC-170, YT-1300 and still get a Firespray. More then enough cool ships for me. I'm only a decent pilot so all the piloting I do is for quests and I generally do fine.
