I have been thinking about the changes in the amount of loot I between novice pilot and master. Before i made master pilot I got loot like crazy now it seems like forever to loot a full inventory. Also i have noticed i have looted various level parts from different tier ship like a level 5 weapon from a tier 1 ship or a level 2 part from a tier 4 ship.
I m not quite sure how the level of looted parts corresponds to the tier of the ship works.
I have theories I would like to test if no one has before
1. The ship level and/or the level of the parts loaded into the ship directly effects the amount of loot dropped in any given loot session in correlation to the tier of the ships being farmed.
Example :Using a tier one ship with/without tier one parts will grant a higher loot drop on tier one ships as opposed to a tier four ship loaded out with tier four parts on same tier one ships
2. The level of ship and/or the level of parts loaded into the ship directly effects the level of the looted parts from any givenloot session in correlation to the tier of the ships being farmed.
Example: Using a tier one ship with/without tier one parts loaded into the ship will drop parts at levels corresponding to the tier of the ships being farmed.
If anyone has done test on this please let me know so i don't waste my times doing this. If not done by anyone then any volunteers to help with this will be very helpful
I haven't yet determined how to keep a log of the parts I loot besides writing them down after a looting session so any help in this area will also be helpful

The one theory of loot drops you can always depend is that someone will loot an uber engine or whatever 5 minutes before you log on or 5 minutes after you land.

LOL, it seems like I get my best loots on Sunday. Its the Same for EQ1 and EQ2, we all used to joke about it in EQ1, and SWG and EQ2 seem to hold true to that also.

I always get the best loot when I wear my underwear outside my pants. The cafe latte coming out of the noses of some people at the cyber cafe when they see me is priceless.
Loot drops are easier to get with low tiers as you can kill more of them in less amount of time.
What I've seen most commonly with the loot ranges are:
Teir 1-lvl 1 to 3 parts
Teir 2-lvl 3 to 5 parts
Teir 3-lvl 5 to 7 parts
Teir 4-lvl 7 to 9 parts
Teir 5-lvl 9 to 10 parts
However I do occationally get parts that do fall out of range. ie: teir 1-lvl 7 gun or teir 5 lvl 1 armour...

With a little luck spaceloot.com will be back online tomorrow. Just before the crash I implemented an application called the 'lootalyzer', which provides comprehensive analysis of loot drops by spawn - it requires user data to make it work, just like the rest of spaceloot, but will provide more information from less input because of the nature of the data.

tried this. i tend to end up with about the same mix of parts each time
ex, out of 100 tier 1 kills i tend to get about 20 loot pieces regardless of wether i use a scyke with tier 1-2 parts or my heavy x with tier 4 parts. the only differences ive noticed are due to the tier of the ship you kill, ie a tier 5 will drop higher level loot more often then a tier 1.

Just out of curiousity, how can you fly the Syck (a privateer ship) and the Heavy W-Wing (a rebel ship), you using two toons?
