When I was still freelance I flew mine at Ace, just because it was so cool.

The Rihk and Krayt have more raw firepower, but the Dunelizard has good firepower PLUS good maneuverability.

I started my first pilot with a Dunelizard as soon as I was able to and kept it to at least tier 4, though I haven't gone farther than that yet. (Took a break from the game)
Started my second pilot and found an even nicer one, just over 86k mass, and I'm almost done with tier 3 on that one too.
I'm probably going to try to ace with it unless I get into too much trouble in tier 4, though I'm not expecting any.

I liked the dunelizard, and if you do...keep it. However, I wanted to fly a more firepower, more "bomber" type ship..so I switched to a Kimo, then the Rik, and will pick up a Krayt soon, as I finally hit master pilot today. It all depends on your flying style really.

I love the Dunelizard, and I can't wait to fly one again. I made the mistake of upgrading (?) to an Ixiyen the first time I did a freelance squadron, and boy-oh did I regret it. That boat stinks.
On the whole, Freelance has really nice ships.
