Thread: the A wing

impretty new to deep space pvp.. i started out with the JSF..liked it and i still do.. its just that ..hmm it seems a little overpowered , the jsf and the belbulab, compared to all other starfighters. so ive started working on an A wing.The 65k mass limit is bit of a problem..


i would really appretiate it ofa few of you could post what you use on yourA wings. could you please stats the components lvl if they are REd and the mass + basic stats. ive managed to find a lvl 6 engine with 70PYR and 95.8 speed, 8.6k mass. not sure if this is good or i should be looking for better PYR. i managed to stay on the tail of a JSF today with that engine but it was pretty hard..

Ok, basically though you need this basic mindset and in this order too if you want to set yourself on the right track of A-wing nirvanary awesometasticness with low carb fries and oysters.


Ok..leave out the oysters.


and the low carbs...full carbs for the win MacDaddio.


Anyway...


1. ENGINE


2. WEAPON


3.SHIELD


Remember that the A-wing is a one weapon slot ship so total cumulative reactor drain and capacitor drain will be lower so you can easily settle for lower level parts which will also save you much mass. I like my re'd lvl 8 blaster, but many prefer lower level, lighter weight lvl 7 crafted guns in pvp with a faster refire along with ordnance. I prefer my carefully chosen precision shots though with a punchier weapon.

haha Sorry to steal your thunder. Consider it a compliment that I have your thread floated to the top and use your A-Wing as a benchmark for mine. I'm almost done with the RE L8 weapon project, though I still need to get my hands on a low mass itemto get stats similar to yours.

I'll give an alternative awing option, though probably worse than Leaph's, but good enough until I have some better RE parts complete. After outfitting all the core parts, I was suprised with all the mass leftover. I've learned much since I outfitted my last awing, and I still have much more to learn. I must say it's a very fun process learning to cram stuff onto fighters. Without the torps, I could probably fit my load onto a Khiraxz.


Reactor: L1

Engine: Post-nerf T3 reward RE (Pre-nerf and QID in the works)

Shield: mark 4 crafted

Weapon: ionic pulse (waiting for usefull RE parts)

Capacitor: crappy RE2, (not enough for shunting decently, but gives the weapon enough power when overcharged.)

DI: cheapo pre-nerf 1K with 17 speed (one guy on the server controlls the market on all the good ones:smileysad

Fligh Computer: V6 with all the overloads

Ordnance: Mark 4 protons torps (good for PvP or hopefully the vette)
