I believe it is in Dathomir. It will be the same spot you went to kessel.

Yup, same station you use to get to Kessel gets you to deep space. Only catch is you need to be an ACE and have enough Prestige points to go.

Ok, maybe this is a bit more complicated than I thought.

I went to the Dath station, and it offered me the options for Kessel and DS, I chose DS, then picked Rebel faction. And nothing. I still have my 165k prestige exp as before.

It is a different system, isn't it ? I.e. there should be a loading screen, and then I arrive there !?

So basically, Deep Space just means "being overt in space" ? It is not a seperate system you jump to that acts like a battlefield (= pvp zone) ?

Gosh, I bet I sound like a newbie, but the forum search being down really hurts my research capabilities.

Deep Space is a sector, just like the Corellian sector or the Kessel sector. When you enter DS, you choose to enter either as an Imperial or as a Rebel and everyone who enters DS is open to PvP combat against the other faction while they remain in DS. The other highlights of DS are the Imperial Star Destroyer and the Rebel Space Station, both of which are attackable by the other faction's players and NPCs.

All Freelance Pilots enter Deep Space from the Dathomir Station. No exceptions. The catch is that you can not be Declared and use the Dathomir Station, so you can not enter DS while Declared.

If you are Declared, you *can* enter Kessel, but it will have to be through your Faction's Deep Space Station (Imp/Endor and Reb/Dant).

More information can be found here.

Hope that answers your question.

I just wanted to let you know: I found out why it wasn't working. It turned out that the standard communication distance of less than 1000m isn't enough (although it is good enough for landing). I closed in on less than 400m, et voila, I was allowed to jump into lag country.
