Flying inLOMAC, gotta love being shot down 14nm from your target. Bringing myself back to real flightsims is hard, trying to regain theskill the SWG/JTL sucked from me.

BVR combat only makes sense when there's a horizon.
Missiles are annoying enough without having to worry about them being shot from 5+ clicks away. If I want that I'll play Flaming Cliffs or F4 SuperPak.
JTL is arcadey, LOMAC/F4 is realistic. They can't really be blended without alienating people.

I hear using acronyms without reference can alienate people too....

BVR works anywhare. It beyond your normal visual sight., then again we'd need real radar or sensors in JTL. More of a joke thread for the hell of it.
Back when JTL was first announced I was hoping for XvT reborn.

And if you're BVR-capable, but need to get a visual ID (see Americans in Vietnam), it's not so fun. It's worse with planes that don't carry guns, I think some F4 variants were that way.

The first F4's didnt have the 20mm Vulcan Gat. They learned from this mistake and added them on later models. All USAF Fighters after this have had one mounted.
