Thread: How do you get a good reactor and other components?

I'm a complete newbie, just bought the game Saturday and have been playing the space missions primarily. I'm a Freelancer on tattoine so far and have just upgraded to the Dunelizard heavy fighter, which is nice as I have more mass. The main problems I am having now are finding quality components. I'm still using most of the prototype stuff as the loot I find from enemies I kill in space is crap, even though you need like a lvl 2-3 certification to use it it's far worse than the newbie prototype items.
Also everything I can find in the bazaar is also crap, and priced exorbitantly.
I really need a booster on my ship but I can't support one due to my reactor, which also affects my poor shield recharge rate and blasters.
Argh, I got a million questions, but here's a few if anyone could be so kind as to answer. (I've also been reading the FAQs and guide too, going to practice later on)
1. Where can I get missiles and countermeasures?
2. How do I find out what tier I am? I've completed all the 1st level freelancepilot skills, does that make me tier 2?
3. What's a good grind spot? I tried an escort mission around Lok and failed miserably. I tried grinding around tattoine on the tier 1 stuff, but the exp is ridiculously low and eventually so many z-95s gang up on me I die.
4. Is becoming a shipwright and making your own stuff the best way to get quality components? I was thinking of doing this, but the amount of clicks required is kinda insane, hurts my hands.

What server are you on?
You can get a reverse engineered level 4 reactor with 41 recharge and 13900 energy. That will take you to about tier 4, me thinks. If you are on Eclipse, send Gaaryk and email. I can help ya out.
