The owner of the ship or just some random crew-member?
The earlier you can do it..the earlier a CSR can check logs to see what extactly happened.
You'll probably need estimated time of theft, location.
Persons in ship at the time.
This issue is has some pretty nasty consequences for the thief.
Have you ever had your POB hijacked by some one? I.E.: You stand up from piloting station and they're certified to fly ship. They take the ship and take it for a joy ride. Not a pleasant experience.

I believe there is a section some where about theft and reporting ingame.

I'll admit though, I'm not interested in using the Y-8 as a mining vessel. I plan on using it as a gunboat instead. 4 Turrets, 1 forward firing gun and 1 launcher. Main vulnerability is from below and behind... sounds like a gunboat to me.
1000 units at around 10 cpu or
250 units at 50 cpu
I know it takes $$ out of your pocket, but it is kinda dumb to not wait for a split or something, but I do agree, you shouldn't have to be paranoid about some jerk selling your resources.
Perhaps if you couldn't /comm the trade outposts from across the system. I am sure there is a command to boot someone off you ship to stop a hijacking
I think this is related to the ability of anyone at a ship station on a POB to /comm regular stations for landing, too, or doing any variety of nasty things. As I recall, someone in a turret can force a ship to land if it's close enough to a station. Of course, since the mining stations can be hailed from anywhere in a system (a bug, as far as I'm concerned--they're probably supposed to have a 1k or less range), and there's a mining station in nearly every system with asteroids, this will remain a problem.
Oh, and the command to boot someone off a ship I believe is /kick. Just target the person and /kick. I did it once to save the Starwind in Deep Space while we were on a suicide dive towards the Star Destroyer thanks to one of my crew. ![]()

From what I understand, you can only fit mining lasers or tractor beam in any of turrents.
Well that would be a new "fix" if it is the case as my current Y-8 is loaded to bear with cert-10 nasty guns in all positions (round 4500 max dam each pre-WO4). So unless they changed that, it's still possible. Honestly i think they shouldn't change the ability to mount any gun you want but I guess if they want to keep it as a pure mining vessel... although, it just doesn't sound right.
I guess if they expect you to have the two forward turrets as tractor beams, the forward firing gun as the mining laser and the top/bottom turrets as regular guns for defense.... I dunno. I have a feeling you can put any gun you want in any of those 5 slots. I guess we'll see. (unless someone has tested this and can testify.....)
