The tractor beam isn't really required to mine, itonly makes you a more effective miner. But if you really want the tractor beam about the only solutionis to get a good class 3 mining laser, I've read people here say that with WO they can be almost as good as a normal weapon.

Hi, You dont have to be lvl 4 to mine. It would be more time effective if you were. I am also a lvl 2-2-2-2 pilot. I use a lvl 5 eqipment mark 2 mining lazer and a large cargo hold. For vehicle kits, One of the items needed is petrochem astroids found in smugglers run off yarvin 4. The reson tier 4 pilots have it esier is that of the 2 astroids there, one is always camped by lvl 3 mobs. Its hard to be watching those chunks fly off while you have to fight the mobs who have just agroed you. Also, Tier 4 pilots are faster so they can chomp off a few chunks and follow them and demolish them. Me, I have to take one chunk at a time. To find your parts, Find out if your guild has a ship wright and try to work out a deal. I can find cargo holds on my server at 5k for small, 8k for medium and about 30k for large. or I can offer my guild shipwright future resources in exchange for equipment. He can also make you the mining lazers. I can find them on my server for 5k for mark 1 and 15k for mark 2 lasers, Not sure the price of mark 3 mining lazers as I am not yet qualified to use them yet. Can any ship be used for mining. The answer is yes but not all ships are recomended. I use my dunelizard since is it a 2 gun ship. I can put my mining lazer in one slot and have a good powerfull cannon in the other weapon slot. I want to be able to protect myself when I get agroed. you could put your mining lazer in a ship with only one weapon but it would be your only defense against mobs and you dont want that. You can sell your resources at the space stations (some stations take and pay more for some resources then other stations, dont know why) or put them on bazzar. just about all space resources can be sold at 20 CPU and some for more. Try your bazzar vendor search and see what is selling at what rate on your server. Hope this helps. I too am kinda new to mining and am having fun trying it all out. I have not yet used a tracking beam yet. I have a kimo with 3 weapon spots that I think I am going to make my mining ship for now till I get higher. I can put one mining lazer, a tractor beam and a cannon to protect myself all on the same ship.
My problem at the moment is that I have 4 ships outfitted out there that I cant get to because of this parking bug. Best of luck to you, better luck than i am having hopefully.

Does the tier 4 or ace make it easier cause of the components you can use like more cargo storage, powerful mining laser, better tractor beam? I have a toon that is tier 2 that will evetually be ace when i decide to finally finish the pilot grind but looking to mine some stuff to make vehicle restoration kits. Thanks for the help BTW. I take it only asteriods are in the Kash system
