I was in deep space 5 minutes ago...and heres what happened.

Im flying thru...i start attacking a Rebel Gunboat....alls good and well. The gunboat doesnt fire at me as im sitting underneath it. Then the gunboat turns. I turn my boosters on and move out of attack range as normal. Whilst I'm performing my evasion techniques I notice that theres other players in the zone that are attacking it. I figure "ok no prob, ill still get the faction for the kill but lemme help them destroy it"...I turn my JSF back around to perform my second wave...and heres what i get....*bleh bleh bleh* (the "you cannot attack this target b/c its not ur mission" sound)

Anyone know why this happens??

they disabled it.

it is a mechanic implemented to prevent griefers (or idiots) from blowing up your static mission spawns in normal space. or to make non masterpilots with lesser equipment feel bad when ace pilots fly up to them in kessel while they are working on a boat, and disable it to stop them from being able to kill it or get xp.
