I really dont fly around in space much, except to travel from planet to planet. Now i just have a Tie fighter, and i wanted to free up some skill points. Can i give up my novice imp pilot and still fly my tie fighter? i am guessing not, but is there any thing i can fly without having a novice like pilot. i need every skill point i can get.

No you cannot fly without pilot skills, but pilot skills don't cost skill points.

Pilot boxes don't take skill points...so...don't worry about it.

oh ok, so if i wanted to i could become like an ace pilot and it wouldnt cost me any skill points?

That is correct. The 250 skill points are for ground based classes not space.

It's so great. I can take my pure crafter into space, where he isn't a one hit kill. Great to be able to actually do some combat.
