Just some FYI for folks that are rebel and are thinking of doing this quest to get the starship.

If you change your Faction to Imperial so that you can go Imperial Combatant you WILL LOSE your Rebel Pilot Experience. This means if you are a Master Rebel Pilot you will be a Noob Imperial after you join the Imperial Faction.

Couple important things to know... Just doing the quest and changing back to rebel will not allow you to fly the ship.

You must grind Freelance Pilot or Imperial Pilot to 4333 to get the certification to fly the ship, it is my understanding after you do this you can change back to rebel and you will retain your cert to fly the ship. Can someone please confirm this for me.

Another good thing to know is if you grind to 4333 you should go all the way to master pilot. Once you make master pilot in any of the pilot classes you only need half the XP to regrind a different faction as pilot.

Ok, first of all, you don't NEED to do the last convoy space mission. Once you have the deed, you can immediately resign. If you're freelancer, you're lucky, you can go back and immediately have the ship ready to go with all your good equipment. If not, then you need to regrind the whole rebel pilot tree again.

Well, it'd be smart to do it simply for the faction.

The 3300k the quest awards could be used to buy three large turrets on Eclipse. It's worth doing the mission simply for FP to buy a few perks. Plus it helps zero you out, and it's not good to leave somebody like Vader hanging.

Just confirming...

I am a freelance pilot but rebel on the ground. I can go imp for a while (on the ground) do the quest for the Eta. Go pack to rebel. In doing this I will not loose much more than the respect of my friends on both sides for being a temp traitor???

Doing this swapping of faction will not affect freelance piloting skills??? If so, let me know and I will get on it as soon as I can !

Freelancers do not use any pilot skills, only swapping ground faction. Took just a few minutes to get done (maybe 30) and a had stored up enough FP that I was immediately a rebel colonel again (had delegated the FP for a friend for safe keeping hehe).

Last week I heard about a bug where if you'd been a space Freelancer/Ground Rebel and done the ARC-170 quest, then swapped to Imperial to get the Jedi fighter, then swapped *back* to ground Rebel, that the ARC ship wouldn't work properly anymore? Would call off the datapad or something?

Anyone know if this is still a problem?
