i'm a little confused. I read a post on how to do the mission, but am having trouble. It says once you get to kashyyk to go down into the base and talk to whoever (krieg i think)....
but when i go in and down a few flights it tells me a force field blocks my way and i cannot go any further to see any npc's in the base. 
Am i in the right spot?

You ran past krieg, he's right there by the force shielded door. Unless there is a second shield door in another building. Simply run around using /targ admiral, problem solved.

No npc's here, just a few at-st's
I can target cmd. richards and Stern (boutny officer) , but no admiral

Yep..he's the Zabrak with blue (or was it purple?) facial tattoos. Should be standing right be the door that leads to *gasp* Vader.
Now how Vader can be on both Kashyyyk and Naboo at concurrent times is a mystery. Powerful with the Force he must be.

head inside the bunker directly across from the landing pad. Krieg is in there, honest.
